Our whole team at Basil Financial Group is excited for this next chapter of growth and excellence. We sincerely appreciate the loyalty our currents have given our firm since its founding in 2011. Below is an excerpt we sent to our clients announcing this merger.
While we already had an internal succession plan in place, we felt that we needed to do more – to meet our clients’ future planning needs as well as provide access to a much deeper bench of professionals. Savant has heavily invested in stronger tax capabilities, comprehensive investment research, trust and estate planning services, robust technology and more.
In addition, an external merger will allow our entire team to do more of what they are best at. Lois looks forward to spending more time with current and future clients and less time running the business. Hannah feels called to spend more time with her family and feels fortunate to have the opportunity to remain a part-time financial advisor. Courtney is excited to focus more on core client service and have greater career opportunities.
We have found an exquisite match. To shed some light on the nearly year-long process, Lois and Hannah evaluated over 80 possible partners and had a very stringent must-have and nice-to-have list of requirements. After meeting with Savant’s founder and CEO, Brent Brodeski, and the executive team, we learned that our two firms have much in common:
• We share the same core values of serving our clients with excellence and integrity;
• We are both fee-only firms;
• We are independent;
• We both believe strongly in the importance of integrating comprehensive financial planning, tax, and investment strategies;
• We share very similar investment philosophies;
• We both use the same investment custodian, TD Ameritrade; and
• We have strong Midwest roots and a presence already in Chicago
